On Saturday, January 8, 2022, the Bright Eyes Belly Dance Student Troupe made its debut with two songs: "Cairo Balady" and "Fight Song."
"Fight Song" was a collaboration with my friend and student Nancy who wanted something to honor her friend Allison and all who have encountered cancer either personally or in the life of a loved one.
The style of this dance is lyrical with 25 yard skirts.

I enjoyed that and love Rachel Ashley Platten's fight song. Loved the costumes, too. They would have looked good doing the flamenco.

Lovely dance- not quite sure it's a belly dance. But, I love the words to the music (not that the tune isn't catchy)- it's a great elegy for your friend.
